LAL QILA

Every Ramadan when Lal Qila has their special promotional offer giving 35% discount on buffet dinner, I make sure I visit the restaurant at least thrice in the month. The buffet dinner is served from 9:30 pm and because of its popularity, the restaurant is always full of people especially on weekends. Although one needs to wait for a few minutes before being seated inside the restaurant, the wait is worth the scrumptious food Lal Qila offers. The buffet includes an array of Pakistani, Arabic and Chinese food. The BBQ and all the Shahi items especially are extremely mouthwatering and delicious. Other specialities include the Cheese Naan and Shahi Kulfi! The restaurant offers a wide variety of food items and as it says, "Fit for the kings," it truly is!

Nobu - Atlantis

Planning for a rocking weekend, we thought of going to Atlantis for an exciting getaway. This is when we opted to dine at Nobu, a Japanese restaurant in Atlantis, The Palm. We had made our reservation earlier and on reaching the restaurant, we were greeted by a polite staff member and we had to wait for a few minutes before we finally got seated inside the dining area.

The ambiance was very nice with dim lights which made the entire setting extremely romantic.

We ordered Salmon tarter Caviar, Spicy seafood soup, Shrimp tempura, Rock shrimp tempura, Shrimp and lobster salad with spicy lemon dressing, Roasted duck breast with Wasabi salsa along with Orange and pineapple juice. The food was really good especially rock shrimp tempura, which was amazing! After we were done with the meal, we ordered Nobu Cheesecake and Apple Tart. Loved both!!! In the end, we ordered coffee and were given complimentary boxes of chocolates from Bateel. The young lady who served us was extremely polite and lively and did a great job!

Overall, our dining experience at Nobu was amazing!

Kitchen 6 - JW Marriott Marquis

Located in the heart of Sheikh Zayed Road, Kitchen 6 can be found inside the JW Marriot Marquis, famously known as the tallest hotel in the world! I went there for the Easter lunch. Entering Kitchen 6 gives one a luxurious feel as the interior has been done intricately and you are politely greeted and guided towards the reserved table.

Kitchen 6 serves one of the biggest international buffet in town and covers Arabic, Indian, Japanese, Lebanese, Chinese and other cuisines on different counters. I started off with the delicious Indian food before moving on towards other options and had enough but made sure to leave some space for my most desired part of a meal. The desserts counter covered various interesting ice creams, cakes and Indian mouthwatering desserts.

The meal completely mesmerized me and I would recommend you all to pay a visit too!

Memsaab Curry & Tandoor

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire episode of dining at Memsaab Curry & Tandoor. Situated in JLT, away from the crowded streets and hustle bustle of life, it was great pleasure dining at this Indian restaurant. We made our reservation an hour before reaching the restaurant and reaching there being welcomed with a personalized greeting by name was what overwhelmed me. After being seated, we were provided with the menu card and while we were deciding about the food to order, we were served with a complimentary welcome drink “Mint Lemonade” along with Namak Paray served with sour cream and green chutney. We were two, my husband and I, and therefore we ordered Balti Ghosht with Roghni Naan and Lacha Paratha, Chicken Dum Biryani … all perfectly done! In drinks we had ordered lemonade and Mango Lassi, although the lassi was quite heavy, it was deliciously tempting to be resisted. The decor of the restaurant and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner even in summers and you always have the option of sitting outside where one can enjoy the beauty of the lake flowing right beside you and the view of the tall buildings around you. Amazing!

Kaleidoscope – Atlantis

Located at the Atlantis in Jumeirah, Kaleidoscope is one of the perfect escapes for a romantic dinner with your loved one! My husband treated me at this restaurant that offers buffet meals! Our reservation had been made earlier and we were greeted politely with the friendly staff who stood at the reception. As I entered, I could notice loads of food smartly placed in different sections. After being seated, we started enjoying the taste of the great aroma we could smell. The delicious food laid on different counters was indeed a feast for our eyes.

This is one restaurant that has the biggest variety on their menu which includes Thai, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Continental food to satisfy the taste buds of every guest! Both the starters and the main course were good but desserts are always the favorite side of my entire meal. We started with fruits and ended up eating the Red Velvet Cake which melted in my mouth immediately after taking the first bite. The friendly waiters, perfectly done lighting and ambiance enables one to thoroughly enjoy the dining experience. Kaleidoscope - A perfect birthday treat for me!

TGI Friday's

The best location to eat at this restaurant especially on a special occasion is the one which is located in Dubai Mall. The meal becomes super enjoyable especially in beautiful winter evenings and this is the time when I always choose to sit outside. While waiting for the food to be served, the best part is enjoying the amazing fountain and observing the height of Burj Khalifa. All this makes the evening more enjoyable especially if you are with a loved one! The second best location of TGIF is the one located in Dubai Festival City where you can eat on a corner table that gives a view of a beautiful artificial lake. Coming up to the menu, the restaurant offers an amazing set of items one can order and the waitress is also always there to guide you what to order. The restaurant also has a good variety of drinks. The staff is super friendly which makes the eating experience good.

Pind Da Dhaba

A good place for desi and punjabi food! As you enter, you may notice a stair case fully decorated with Manjhas (string used to fly kites). Moving up, there is a huge wheel and a small area decorated with colorful bangles and chundri dupattas!

The ambiance have been perfectly done according to the name, "Pind da Dhaba" and the music played is Punjabi  of course! I experienced the restaurant on a Thursday evening at 8 pm, however, the restaurant started to fill as time passed!

In the beginning we were served with Pappad, salad that included only onions and green raita, achaar and lemon.  The drinks we ordered for two people were Sweet lassi, shikanji (drinks) and food included Dhaby di daal and Murgh makhni.

The prices at the restaurant are reasonable and two people can easily eat under AED 100. However, to reach the restaurant, you have to climb the stairs ... so not a very good idea for old people or those who cannot take the stairs. A lift is suggested. Besides this, the size of tandoori roti is very small and thin and costs AED 3 which means a person needs to order at least 2 for women and 3-6 for men which is the major item that increases the amount of the total bill!
